What Students Are Saying:

Working with Young was one of the most special opportunities I have ever had. Though I had heard nothing but positive things about him, Young still managed to exceed my expectations! I was fortunate enough to do my ACT Prep with him, and I can’t imagine anyone replicating the help he provided with his unmatched expertise. Everyday that I came in, Young was an uplifting, enthusiastic energy, and I would always leave feeling accomplished thanks to his heartfelt encouragement and guidance. Young’s incredible instruction along with his endless resources were one of the main reasons I felt prepared for the ACT. Doing practice tests in the weeks leading up to my test definitely helped me the most. These tests were just like the real ACT, which helped me feel super relaxed in my actual test and relieved me of any excess pressure that may have been a distraction from my preparation. I ended up improving from a 28 composite on my diagnostic to a 34 composite on my ACT, all thanks to Young’s help! The most improvement was my science section where I increased by 9 points, but I felt super improved and more confident in all of the sections. Although his ACT resources were very important in my full preparation process, I wouldn’t have seen half of the improvements I saw without someone as supportive and genuine as Young. It was very obvious to me when I first walked in that Young worked out of the kindness of his heart, putting all of his effort into helping us improve in our areas of need. Young creates a very comfortable learning environment where mistakes are fully acceptable and a part of the learning process. He provided nothing but support in times of struggle and lifted us up with his positivity whenever we were frustrated or having an off day. He also celebrates all of our successes, no matter how small, so I was able to appreciate my hard work and improvements along the way. I applaud his entire method of preparing students and cannot stress enough how helpful he has been to me and so many others! I am so thankful to have worked with Young.

Young has been nothing short of incredible. I received a pretty average composite score in my diagnostic test, a score that wasn’t terrible nor exemplary. However, after I started working with Young, his detailed and thoughtful lessons encouraged me to push myself further and strive harder for the best possible score I could produce. He never failed to remind me that he believed in me and that he was proud of me no matter what, and his constant encouragement and reassurance created a genuinely supportive and burdenless environment. Given my stressful school and extracurricular life, Young provided a space for me to unwind, slow down, and equip myself with the confidence and knowledge I needed to face the challenges I saw ahead of me. It was in this environment that I was able to really thrive. At the finish line, I was eventually able to get a 36 in 3 sections and an overall 35 composite score. I am so grateful and blessed to have had Young as my guide throughout this entire process.

My first grammar lessons with Young totally surprised me because of how easily he taught the skills. In fact, he was able to teach each of the four sections step by step and made sure that I understood each topic. On top of this, he was very flexible with my schedule, which really helped my mental stress since I was going into my junior year. With my SAT’s cancellation due to COVID, Young suggested that I try out the ACT instead. I was very discouraged, but with Young’s patient guide and tests every week, I was able to score 34 on my first try! On top of this, my weakest section (reading) improved by 8 points! I really owe it to Young and everything he taught me!

Prior to joining my tutoring sessions with Young, I had been learning under a different standardized testing program. During that time, I exhibited minimal improvement and began to lose confidence in myself with performing well on the ACT. Through each session, Young helped me to view the test not as an obstacle but rather as a good learning experience. His organized lessons helped me gain more confidence as I learned various techniques for approaching each section. In the end, I was able to improve my composite score by 7 points to get a final composite score of 32! I was even able to apply the things that he taught to my school work and college essays. I don’t think I would have been able to improve so much on the ACT without Young’s help. I am very appreciative of the great learning experience I had with Young, and I would definitely recommend him to everyone studying for the ACT!

I went into Kairos with no prior preparation for the ACT, and I felt very nervous and discouraged because testing has never been my strong suit. However, after only a few classes and tackling each section one at a time, I was able conquer each section with a new, more efficient approach. Young’s kindness and patience created a safe environment for me and reminded me to never give up. He always believed I could do better and worked with me to score in the 30’s!

At the beginning of my standardized testing experience, I was intimidated and lacked a lot of confidence in myself. A high test score seemed almost unreachable for me. Young was amazing in his guidance during my ACT prep. He truly goes into great depths about every topic within all of the sections. During each session with Young, I felt that he was always taking the time to make sure that I understood everything he was teaching. His tutoring methods kept me engaged in each lesson while teaching me all the vital information. The packets he created about every section helped immensely as well. As soon as I stepped into his room on the first day, he had my whole ACT prep already planned out. His organization and overall positive attitude allowed me to put my full confidence in everything he taught me. I was able to raise my composite score a total of 12 points, eventually ending up with a super score of 34. I soon realized that the things Young taught me not only helped with the ACT but also with my schoolwork. I have been able to transfer everything I learned from Young into the classroom, which has been immensely rewarding. Overall, I would not have been able to get the score that I did without receiving the amazing tutoring from Young.

Going into tutoring with Young I was feeling discouraged because I had already been through a couple months of tutoring with a different program and did not do well on my first test. Just after a few visits with Young, I was already feeling more confident and understanding of the concepts. He was able to break down the subject matter in a way where I was easily able to understand in an engaging, enjoyable way. I was also worried about scheduling because of balancing my constantly changing busy sports schedule, but Young could not be more accommodating. I constantly told myself and Young that I was not good at standardized tests and that they weren’t my thing, but Young always instilled confidence and encouraged me to do my best. Without Young’s help, I would not have been able to drastically bring up my composite score 9 points and my best section from a 21 up to a 34!

After hearing so many great things from my friends about Young, I enrolled at Kairos for the summer. As an upcoming senior, I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to learn everything in time for my college applications, but with Young’s help, I was able to reach a 35 composite score and 36 superscore in a couple of months. Young focuses deeply on the fundamentals in the beginning weeks of prep, which was especially helpful for me in the math section since I didn’t come in with a strong foundation. I took both group and private lessons with Young, and after the first few weeks, his curriculum became more challenging and intense so I could apply the basics I had learned. That gradual process is what I truly think led to my final successful score. This course really did push me, but I could clearly see myself improving every week I took a practice test- not only in my scores, but my comfortability taking the test as well. I am so grateful for Young’s encouraging attitude and the genuine care he has for his students and their futures.

Studying for the ACT in the middle of my junior year was a very daunting task I had ahead of me, but Young at Kairos Academics made it super manageable! As soon as I took my diagnostic, we got right to working on a study/lesson plan. Young’s teaching style and lesson planning greatly improved my mental health and stress because of all the support and amount of caring he puts forth to his students. I have never felt more heard and encouraged about my learning in a classroom. Overall, I was able to surpass my ACT score goals by getting a 34 and highly recommend you look into Kairos Academics for any tutoring you may need!

I remember when my mom first called Young and asked if he could teach me the “tricks” to score higher on the SAT. He told my mom that there were no tricks here, just rules and knowledge to produce replicable results. He was completely right; Young’s methods are no nonsense and produce consistently higher scores. In only a month and a half, I was able to boost my score from the mid-1400s to a 1540, and I couldn’t be happier. On top of producing amazing results, Young is a captivating and caring teacher. I was surprised that hour long grammar lessons felt so enjoyable and personalized. When I had to miss lessons, he was always very understanding and made time in his schedule to make up my lesson. I highly recommend Kairos Academics to everyone for any subject.

Going into my ACT journey, I had little to no prior knowledge of the tools I needed in order to succeed. Originally, I thought I might self-study; however, there was so much material to cover that I had no idea where to begin. Because I was so intimidated and overwhelmed by standardized testing, I knew I would need someone with experience to help me significantly raise my score. That is when I turned to Young. Within one week of taking his daily classes, I could feel my confidence increasing. Not only was I rapidly familiarizing myself with the material on the test, but I also found myself enjoying his classes – even though they started at 9:00 am. Every morning, Young was prepared, cheerful, and welcoming. He was easily able to create a friendly environment for learning, and that is what led me to constantly have a positive attitude towards standardized testing. Additionally, I am so thankful for Young’s ACT Prep because of how much it pushed me to improve in all different aspects of the ACT. I never thought I would need any of these ACT lessons after taking the test, but I have discovered that the content Young teaches his students helps them in many aspects of their lives. One specific example of this can be seen in my writing. During my sophomore year of high school, I had never fully understood the rules for punctuation, grammar, etc. Even though Young’s lessons were meant to help my English score – which they remarkably did – they showed me the correct way to write. I was never confident with my writing, but because of Young, I feel prepared to take on any English assignments. Moreover, one of the biggest impacts ACT Prep has had on me involves the science section of the test. For the longest time, I could not understand why I was doing so poorly in the science portion. After speaking with Young, I was advised to take a single one-on-one session just for science. After that one class, my score was able to rise by so much. My science score had been causing me to second guess myself, but with Young’s natural ability to teach and assure his students, I was able to regain my motivation. Ultimately, Young’s ACT Prep allowed me to raise my composite score by 8 points. I learned more than I could have ever imagined from Young, and I am extremely pleased with the experiences I had with Kairos Academics.

Before I went to Young for help, I was incredibly nervous to take the ACT—I had no idea how to approach any section of the test. I needed the most help in the English section, and Young helped me learn more through his classes than I did in school. He taught me new strategies through his detailed explanations and study guides. In addition, he took the time to explain why each answer was correct or incorrect. This new understanding also allowed me to reapply these concepts in school. With his help, I was able to increase my composite score by 9 points! I gained the most points on the English section. Not only is he a great tutor, Young is also a great person overall. I would sometimes have scheduling issues, and he would always make time for me to catch up, even though he is really busy. I am thankful for everything he’s taught me, so I definitely recommend Young to anyone who needs help studying for the ACT!

As a senior, I have been worrying about my standardized test scores for college applications. I have struggled with figuring out how to self-study for the tests and didn’t have any progress with improving my scores.

When I started working with Young, I had my doubts about raising my scores in such a short period of two months. However, after a few sessions, I started to see big changes in my scores and had a deeper understanding of concepts in every section. Young goes over individual concepts in-depth and makes sure that I understand them thoroughly by the end of the day. The fun and peaceful environment at Kairos encouraged me to ask questions that I would usually be too embarrassed or shy to ask in my usual learning environment. In the end, my composite score went up by 4 points and my weakest reading section went up from 24 points to 36 points! If you are a student that is either struggling to get your ACT points up or struggling to understand lessons at school, I 100% recommend going to Kairos Academics.

There’s not a single negative thing that comes to mind about working with Young. Over the course of my time with him, he has given me countless tips and tricks to use on the ACT. Every session I was a part of was time efficient and engaging. Being a student-athlete results in having a busy schedule and Young was always very flexible and understanding. He was willing to make any accommodations necessary to make sure I never fell behind. He builds relationships with all of his students and cares deeply for each and every one of them in order to connect with them and help unlock their full potential on the ACT. My standardized test scores have come a long way and I owe it all to Young.

At first, I really struggled with the ACT and had little confidence in my testing ability. However, working with Young made a huge difference. He helped me improve my composite score by 8 points. His patience and dedication to his students produces stunning results. He helped change my outlook on the ACT and allowed me to get my best score yet.

Prior to my tutoring sessions with Mr. Park, I struggled and lacked confidence in my math class. With Young’s teaching skills, I was able to learn new material quickly and managed to score above 90% on all of my math tests following. As he has lots of experience with students from the local schools, he knows the courses very well and was able to give me the specific tips and tricks needed to succeed in my enhanced math class.

Before I received tutoring from Young, I was struggling in math and had never been with a tutor before. After meeting with him the first few tutor sessions, I automatically was able to better understand the material. He found exactly what I was struggling with in each unit, and we focused on those concepts before moving on to others. His flexible schedule made it really helpful to get in those extra study sessions before tests, and he helped me get an A in my math class junior year. Young is the best person to come to if you ever need tutoring because his teaching makes it really easy to comprehend the topics and he challenges you so that you can succeed on your own. He gave me confidence in my math skills and he is overall a great tutor!

The idea of preparing for the ACT was always scary, but when I met with Young, I was able to learn new concepts and how to solve problems I never thought I could. He was able to break down concepts in a way I was able to understand the concepts well. Also, Young was accommodating with my chaotic schedule as a student-athlete and would always make sure I had a class to go to. Approaching the ACT, I had a lot of doubts in my own confidence, but Young was always there to cheer me on and gave me advice when needed. Thanks to Young, I was able to boost my English section from a 24 to a 35, jumped 6 composite points, and scored in the 30s overall on my first try. I highly recommend Kairos academics to anyone as Young will always be there to support his students in any way possible and always encouraged me to do my best!

After not doing well on my ACT, I signed up with Kairos based on recommendations from my peers. Going into my first session, I felt intimidated, but the comfortable pace of the small group instruction allowed me to effectively learn the concepts. Young was also very accommodating with my complicated summer schedule, allowing me to plan my tutoring around my cross-country practice. The sessions allowed me to raise my ACT science score by 9 points, which helped my overall composite score reach the 30’s on my first attempt.

Near the end of my sophomore year, I started to get very nervous about taking my ACT, especially since standardized testing has always been something that I wasn’t very confident in. I had no idea of where or how to start studying, but after my first few sessions with Young, I was able to quickly learn strategies and concepts that I struggled to understand even in school. He created an amazing learning environment, and I always felt comfortable asking questions and seeking additional help on any concepts I was struggling with. His unique approach, attention to detail, and genuine care for all his students boosted my self-confidence immensely and ultimately helped me raise my ACT score to a 35! Studying with Young was one of the best academic decisions I’ve made, and I highly recommend going to Kairos Academics for any of your tutoring needs!

I would say that Young would be the best person to get ACT prep from. After my first class with him, I learned more in one hour than from any other teacher I’ve ever had. Because of him, I went up 9 composite points! Young is a kind and hardworking person who helps you in any way you need. There would be situations where I wouldn’t be able to attend class, and he would still make time for me to make up the class. For anyone who is looking somewhere for ACT prep, you need to go to him!

When I first started out with the entire standardized testing process, it was so confusing; every single website and tutoring place I went to offered different advice and opinions. However, finding Young and Kairos Academics was probably the best thing that could have happened. While some of my other friends were complaining about the tediousness of other prep courses, Young’s course was the exact opposite. Young’s tutoring process is extremely efficient, flexible, and quick. He doesn’t waste your time going over meaningless content, and only teaches you exactly what he feels you could improve on. To add on to that, I was playing two different sports at the time so finding a good time to get tutored was almost impossible, but Young was able to make it work, whether the meeting was in person or over zoom. He responds extremely fast to texts and phone calls, so if I ever had a quick question, I knew he would get back to me extremely quickly. After getting tutored by him, I was able to raise my ACT composite score from a 30 to a 34 as well as raise some of my worst sections from a 26 to a 33, something that I would have never been able to do without his expertise.

As I was approaching junior year, I had little confidence that I would do well on the ACT, and I dreaded the idea of enrolling in academies or tutoring. I never had a positive experience at summer schools or with tutors, but that all changed after ACT prep with Young. Young makes classes fun and engaging, and sessions are just long enough so that you cover a good amount of content without feeling mentally drained afterwards. He’s kind and patient, making sure that you understand what you miss on practice exams. He’s never made me feel dumb, even when I felt dumb myself. I struggled with getting my score up at the beginning and was really discouraged when I saw that everyone else in my class was seeing big jumps in their scores. However, Young continued to encourage me and believed in my abilities, especially when I didn’t. After just eight months, I was able to raise my score from a 27 to a 35! I ended up with a score higher than I had even hoped for and exceeded my own expectations! I’ve had the best and most rewarding tutoring experience with Young.

Going into my Junior year, I was extremely stressed about standardized tests for college. I knew very little about the options and best study methods, which made the whole process confusing and nerve-racking. Before Kairos, I had been to very expensive tutoring companies, studying for months, yet my score would not budge. I felt hopeless about my standardized test score and almost gave up on taking the exam completely. All the worry and confusion shifted to clarity when I came to Young at Kairos. I immediately began prepping for the ACT, and Young graciously fit me into his schedule. He provided excellent study books and materials that changed the way I was studying for the ACT. He had a comprehensive study plan/schedule that wasn’t overwhelming but made me feel confident about my testing abilities. Young is driven to help his students succeed and I could feel his passion for my success. With other testing companies, even after months and dozens of tests, my score remained the same. With Kairos, I was able to score a 34 after about a month of tutoring and only two official exams. I would never have dreamed of doing so well, and it has opened many doors for me in terms of college and national scholarships. I can’t thank Young/Kairos enough!

I’ve always had bad standardized test anxiety, and I was afraid to take the ACT for the longest time. When my friend introduced me to Kairos, Young went over the most important concepts with me on the ACT, and my practice scores went from a 29 to a 33! It was amazing how Young was able to help me improve in a short amount of time. The biggest struggle for me was test-taking anxiety. The most important lesson that Young has taught me, though, is to just take my time to carefully read the questions. Although I knew the material, I would end up scoring lower because I would rush through the questions instead of taking the time to read them. Young’s pacing technique not only helped improve my score, but it also helped me when it came to tests in school as well. Young is not just a tutor, but he’s a friend. He takes the time to really know what you struggle with so that you can succeed. I’ll forever be grateful for Young’s help.

Young Park has helped me immensely with the ACT. Prior to his help, I felt that I was unable to improve beyond a certain score – the test often felt daunting. After his prep, my composite score rose 8 composite points, even though I was only able to take the ACT once. Young always met me with patience and fun, and I found myself being excited to attend his prep sessions. Especially on days when I felt hopeless on reading or science sections, Young always believed in me. He always told me that I am capable, and my worst enemy is myself. I took his advice and worked to focus on my score. I am certain that I could not have been where I am without Young.

I started doing ACT prep with Young my junior year after a few of my friends had already taken the test and recommended him for prep. I was skeptical of how much tutoring could help because it had never made much difference for me in the past. Young’s program, however, is very well designed. The way he taught the grammar for the English section made it easy to remember. I couldn’t have mastered that section from a prep book alone. The math tutoring not only helped me raise my score 5 points in the math section, but made school easier because he explained the newer Math 3 concepts in a way that was easier to understand than how it is taught in class. The weekly practice tests helped me raise my score and understand how to pace myself (no watch needed). Young also kept me motivated through the Covid-19 test cancellations. When I finally got to take the real test, all the practice made it so I didn’t even feel nervous. My score was 6 points higher than when I started and will give me much better chances of getting into my dream school. Young believed I could get a score better than I thought I could and helped me reach it.

Going into junior year, the thought of taking the ACT was daunting. I had heard about Young through a friend who had a great experience with him, so naturally, I contacted him to start ACT prep. I had taken a diagnostic exam prior to starting ACT prep with Young in which I scored low on the math and science sections and also had trouble with the fast pace of the test as a whole, my low scores further increasing my anxiety about the test. But when I showed the results of my diagnostic exam to Young, he created a individualized plan to prepare me for the test. First, he had me focus on math, the hardest subject for me. What I really appreciated about Young’s tutoring was that he focused on the areas of the math section I needed the most help with, improving my score dramatically within a couple of sessions. Young also taught me how to tackle the tricky science section that had seemed impossible to me before I started going to him. Additionally, Young’s weekly practice exams leading up to my test really gave me a sense of what the actual test would be like and many opportunities to practice my pacing.

Because of all of Young’s help, I was able to get a score higher than I ever thought was possible for myself! His tutoring increased my math score by six points and my composite score by four points, and that’s not all! My scores in other categories increased too! And Young isn’t just great at tutoring! He is also great at really getting to know each individual student. The encouraging atmosphere Young creates makes each student feel like they can succeed! I would definitely recommend Young to anyone looking for an ACT tutor!

With a mother who had never studied in the US, I found the task of registering and preparing for standardized testing daunting. I actually only heard of the ACT late in Sophomore year and had assumed that I would take the SAT. After consulting with Young, I realized that the ACT might be a better fit. Moreover, he was honest about my abilities and very straightforward about his methods. His openness was incredibly reassuring, and I noticed results after only a few lessons. Repetition was key for me, and Young’s weekly exam and debrief structure enabled me to gain practice and a better understanding of the test. I get bad test-anxiety, but Young’s academy gave me the confidence I needed to succeed on the ACT. I’m so grateful for all the time and effort he put into treating his students as individuals and helping us do our absolute best.

I struggled to raise my SAT score for quite some time, and when many schools went test-optional because of the pandemic, I was going to give up on submitting a test score. But thankfully, I started ACT prep classes with Young a few months before starting senior year. Young efficiently used the limited time we had and helped me achieve my highest scores on my practice tests and my real ACT test.

After ACT prep, Young helped me on my personal statements for college. In this time, I realized how genuine and authentic Young was as a person, not just as a tutor. I’m always so grateful that I met Young during this time. In the midst of uncertainty and doubt, Young gave me the confidence and self-assurance I needed to persevere and not give up.

Going into the summer of my junior year I knew I needed to start prepping for the ACT. As a student athlete whose GPA was not the strongest, I knew I needed a good ACT score to have a shot in the recruiting process for college. Within the first few weeks of working with Young, I immediately began seeing improvements in each section of the ACT. What I loved most about Young was that even in a group setting, he made sure to help each student individually. After a summer with Young, I became a more confident, more relaxed, and overall smarter test taker. I am almost certain that my ACT score helped me immensely in the recruiting process and ultimately was the deciding factor in my admission to my dream university.

I was recommended Young as a tutor in 8th grade when I was struggling greatly with math. I have had him all throughout high school and I am now finishing my senior year. Young has been very kind and encouraging to me over these years. He helped me gain the confidence in my own academic abilities and learn to better understand and approach math problems. With Young’s help in tutoring me, I have never received anything less than an A in my math class all 4 years of high school. I truly think that it is Young’s tutoring that has help me succeed and create essential study habits. His style of teaching and care he has for his students made hard concepts a lot easier to understand. Having Young help all throughout high school greatly strengthened my academic career.

To me, prepping for the ACT at home just wasn’t as effective as going to Kairos to get help from Young. Because he has so much experience with both past and present ACT tests, he knows exactly what strategies to use for each section. By being in a relaxed environment with a couple other classmates of the same level, I was able to ask questions openly. I was very weak in math and science, but after Young taught us quicker and more efficient methods, I was able to bring my scores up greatly. For example, my science score went from a 22 to a 34. I was also able to read through English and reading passages faster, which gave me a lot of extra time to check through my work. Sessions were intense and focused, especially for math. We were able to work through many concepts and were always given extra homework to practice at home in order to remember better. In fact, I continue to use many of the strategies taught by Young in the math classes I take now in school. Young is very flexible when it comes to sessions, so I was never stressed out when I had a busy schedule because we were always able to work around it. It is easy to contact him for any problem or question you have, and he gives great advice and pushes you to work harder. I doubted myself a lot, but Young helped me realize that by keeping a good mindset and not giving up, there was always a way to improve.

I went into the ACT with very little knowledge. I had no clue what was going to be on it and what to expect. My older brother had an ACT tutor, but she wasn’t the best so my parents kept looking for a great tutor for me. We eventually found Young, and he helped me so much. He always had a positive attitude, and he pushed us to learn. He gave us his study guides and formulas for everything that we needed to know. Because of that, I gained a solid 10 composite points on my ACT. He pushed me to be my best, and he celebrated when I got there. He helped me surpass my original goal, and I am forever thankful.

Finding Kairos Academics online during the summer before senior year was a great fortune for me. I didn’t have much time left before sending in my college applications, and I wasn’t very confident in my scores. Before I met Young, I struggled a lot on the English and Reading sections and was considering switching back to the SAT. However, Young helped me grow confidence in my grammar and time management skills to allow me to become successful at taking the test. At first, I didn’t know how to approach the test in order to maintain the scores I wanted. He gave me tips on all of the different sections and helped me overcome my time pressure panic situations. His super-friendly attitude and teaching style helped calm me down and allowed me to stabilize my scores. Over a month and a half, his flexible schedule and caring nature allowed me to get a 34 before starting my senior year. Meeting him as a tutor and mentor during my roughest time has been one of the luckiest moments of my life. I would have not been able to get where I am without him!

Standardized testing always scared me, especially going into junior year. It seemed an impossible task to do well at first glance. However, after researching prep places, I found Kairos Academics. There, I began taking classes during summer and the first semester of school to prep for the ACT. I was amazed at how much Young was able to prepare me. My score originally going into Kairos was a 25. However, after diligent studying under Young, I was able to raise my score to 33. It’s incredible that Young helped me raise my composite score by 8 points. At the beginning, I struggled immensely with the English section, scoring a 23 on my diagnostic exam. However, after the summer prep program, my English section score increased 12 points to a 35. He also makes learning how to approach the different sections easy through his lectures, making his prep courses one of the most beneficial and engaging experiences of my life. Not only is he an amazing tutor, Young also cares for the well-being of his students. He knows how stressful high school can be, especially in Orange County, and treats his students with respect and empathy. He goes above and beyond to ensure that his students have a memorable experience here at Kairos Academics. I would absolutely recommend Young to anyone looking for prep courses and tutoring.

As junior year rolled around, I was beginning to start thinking about taking the ACT. After taking my first ACT and constantly scoring low in every section, I knew I needed a few tips and tricks from a tutor. I heard a few of my close friends had already been a part of the Kairos Academics family, and it sounded like I needed to try it out. Never would I have thought that meeting with Young only twice a week would ultimately increase my act score by 7 points and exceed my goal ACT score. Once I was satisfied with my score, it didn’t end there. With just finishing college applications at the beginning of my senior year, I had lost motivation to try in my math class. Struggling to keep up my grade, I decided to have Young break down what we were learning in our class into a simpler method. This helped me to be satisfied with my math grade for the first semester and gave me the confidence to succeed in my second semester as well. My favorite part about Young’s program is how much he cares for not only his students’ success, but also his students’ well-being. He very well understood the anxiety that comes with standardized tests as well as the competitiveness of high school classes these days. Relying on Young’s help has not only made me succeed, but it has also motivated me to succeed in whatever my future holds.

I first found out about Young Park after my sister began preparing for the ACT with him. Before hearing about Young, I had been studying at a different test preparation center and after weeks of studying my scores had barely improved. I took the ACT twice and received the same score both times. At the end of my Junior year, I decided to switch Young to see if maybe he could help me boost my score. I saw results quickly. The main improvement I saw was in the math section where my score jumped from a 27 average up to a 32. I also saw improvement in the Reading and English categories. Young has a unique approach that focuses on really learning and understanding the reasoning behind the material rather than fixating on things like timing and memorization. I found this teaching style much more valuable than any other method of test prep. After Young helped me achieve my ideal ACT score, I continually went back to him for help with my college essays, statistics class, and algebra class. I credit Young for his dedication to his students and optimistic approach to teaching, which has helped boost my GPA, improve my ACT score, and better my supplemental essays. He has made me more confident in my college applications and in my intellectual ability overall.
Young knows the ACT inside and out. His ability to articulate his knowledge and pass on the skill sets needed to be a successful test taker are unsurpassed. Each week I took practice tests I found my scores consistently improving. I completed the ACT prep course in a group setting but never felt short changed of a personal touch. Young takes the time to get to know his students, learn what mistakes they are consistently making, and devise an effective way to correct them. For me, going over my mistakes again and again, learning why my answer was “wrong”, and more importantly why another answer was “right” made the difference. The ACT can seem overwhelming, but Young’s ACT prep course is anything but. Young breaks down each section of the ACT into a simple step-by-step process, highlighting the do’s and don’ts of each section of the test. The small milestones Young builds into the course makes the end result payoff that much bigger. With Young’s help I was able to improve my composite ACT score by 5 points. Kairos academics was just what I needed to obtain a competitive ACT score and be admitted to Yale University.

Originally, when I decided to take the ACT, I wasn’t planning on getting a tutor because my brother did well self-studying. After taking my first test though, my score was lower than I thought it would be. I was recommended by a friend to see Young, but I had my doubts about how helpful tutoring could be. Since I started ACT tutoring a little later than everyone else, I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to understand the concepts in time before my test. But because of Young, I was able to cover everything quickly and have time for the practice tests he provides. His methods of teaching were incredibly helpful, and the things he taught me were beneficial to my classes in school as well. Young was really good at creating a comfortable environment with his students, and you could tell he cared for each and every one of us. Before and after every practice test, I never felt confident, but Young always believed in me and pushed the negative thoughts out of my head. Over time, Young raised my scores in each section. My composite scored was raised 9 points. Working with Young was the best decision I made, and I will definitely recommend him to my friends.
Standardized testing was not something I could boast about excelling in, as I found that solving questions under the pressure of being limited to a certain amount of time was difficult to do both correctly and efficiently. ACT prep with Young helped me tremendously, however. Young takes a different approach on test prep in comparison to other academies; he makes sure to personalize classes and materials for students after getting to know individuals and finding their strengths as well as areas in need of improvement, rather than just providing practice tests. Young also truly cares for his students and is very patient throughout the learning process, things I am sure every one of his past and current students can unanimously agree with and vouch for. Through ACT prep, along with additional tutoring for math –a subject I have always struggled with–, I was able to achieve perfect scores on both the English and Reading sections and overall raise my composite score by 7 points, something I would not have been able to do without Young’s guidance. I have referred ACT prep at Kairos to one of my friends, and she has recently seen great results as well, despite having started tutoring later than most students. I would definitely recommend to those in need of test prep and/or tutoring!

Sophomore year, I decided to take an advanced math course, which proved to be too much for me to handle. Luckily, Young was recommended to me, and he completely saved my grade! His dedication to his students and ability to explain absolutely anything impressed me, and I continued to see him. I am now in my senior year, and I still go to Young before every math test I have, as I know he will be able to clarify the material I am learning. Unfortunately, in the past I have had some teachers who I had difficulty learning from; however, after just one session with Young I would feel confident in anything I was learning. It is truly amazing how Young has been able to help me and many of my peers, and I would easily recommend him to anyone!
As a Kairos Academics student for multiple years, I can testify to the extreme diligence and expertise of Kairos’ instructors. During my experiences with Young Park and his other tutors, my success in my studies has improved drastically. I have gone from struggling in mathematics to earning A’s and understanding all new material through just a few sessions with Young. Young makes sure that all of his students feel supported, takes time out of his schedule to meet with everyone even at short notice, and is always quick to answer a text or phone call to help in any way possible. Young has always been incredibly kind and helpful, has built a meaningful relationship with both myself and my peers, and has been an invaluable part of my education and success in school. I am incredibly thankful for Young Park and Kairos Academics and recommend them whenever possible.

Going into my Junior year of high school, I was worried I was behind in ACT preparation. Many of my friends had already taken group courses or worked with private tutors. Initially, I was skeptical that my score would improve in such a short duration of time. Once I began working with Young, my personal confidence improved immensely. Young was able to break down every section of the ACT, simplifying the material and making it comprehendible. After taking weekly classes and practice tests, my progress became evident. Moreover, Young was able to create an encouraging and supportive learning environment. Aside from his superior instruction, it’s clear that he cares immensely for his students and their well-being. Without Young’s help, I would never have obtained a higher score.
When I started on the ACT at the beginning of junior year, I was not the most confident person. I am a 4.0 GPA student yet scored very low on my first attempt. Over the year, Young’s guidance and advice really gave me more confidence in my skills. I also had a lot of fun talking about our similar interests such as technology and Final Fantasy. In the end, I ended up with a 9-point composite score increase and a reading score increase from a 12 to a 34 on my exam! Young is an excellent teacher and great supporter.

I’ve been with numerous tutors, but Young is the only one who I can confidently say that has actually helped me. Young has not only helped me score higher on my tests, but he has helped me memorize concepts and skills more efficiently. He goes through all the concepts that you’re struggling with and won’t move on until you fully understand them. With just a few months of tutoring, he helped raise my composite score by 9 points and my worst section went from a 20 to a 32. He is super friendly and creates a positive learning environment. I would highly recommend Young to everyone!
Over my tenure as a Kairos Academics student, I have visited Young for ACT prep and help in my math class prior to tests. Over the course of my ACT prep class, Young taught me countless strategies for taking the test that made a significant impact on my performance. My scores steadily improved on each practice test and after about 6 months I was able to raise my composite score by 9 points! In addition, Young’s dedication to his students was amazing! Whether it was allowing me to make up practice tests around my schedule or meeting with me late at night to study for math tests, Young always found a way to make time for me.

Young helped tutor me for the ACT, and before I took his class, we did a Pre-ACT test. I was at a 20, but by the time I finished Young’s ACT course, I finished with a score of 28! His class was great, and he teaches all the concepts that are on the ACT in an understandable way.
Kairos Academics truly has helped me with my academic success. From the ACT to college applications, Kairos Academics has helped me every step of the way. Kairos Academics also provided the personalized help I needed through smaller class sizes and individual help whenever it was required.

I decided on the ACT after having my first review session with Young regarding my first practice test. I really liked how he was able to break down topics into little pieces and then create examples based on what we had just learned. My parents and I were wary about signing up for the group sessions, but it turned out to be really helpful because I was able to understand the different perspectives people had on the same problem. So far, I have been able to improve my composite score by 9 points, aiming for 10.
Tutoring with Young was one of the best academic decisions I’ve made in my high school career. I have never had a tutor before studying with Young, and after just a few months, I had the confidence I needed to ace my ACT. Young’s dedication to his students extends far beyond just test scores. From opening each session with a simple check-in to working his schedule around the hectic lives of his students, Young’s passion for his students can be seen simply in his ability to make each of his students feel special and important. While he provided me with all the materials I needed to raise my score, it was truly his confidence in me that empowered me to believe in myself and strive for perfection. His guides for each of the ACT sections simplified the complex mess of content that makes up the test, and his commitment to my success erased the doubt and nerves I had regarding the entire process. After tutoring with Young, I was able to receive a 36 on my ACT, an accomplishment that I would have never been able to earn without his guidance.

I was just getting started with the ACT, and some girls on my team had mentioned Young as a tutor. Since I started practicing for the ACT the summer before my junior year and before taking Algebra 2, I was worried that I would struggle keeping up, especially in the math section. However, after going through weekly sessions and multiple practice tests, I can confidently say my score in each section and overall score have improved. The material that he teaches has also made my academic classes easier, particularly math. I had used a couple of tutors before, but none of them compare to Young. It can be easy for me to become discouraged while learning new content, but with the laidback and positive environment Young creates, this definitely wasn’t the case! Young cares for each of his students and genuinely wants the best for us.
As someone who was struggling severely with standardized test taking, having repeatedly scored low on the ACT, and going into the summer prior to senior year, I was scared and nervous about what was to come. Feeling hopeless and close to accepting my low score, I was recommended by one of my lacrosse friends to try going to Young Park. Though at first skeptical by what one person could do, after my first lesson I knew that this tutoring program was different. Young doesn’t just push information at you like a lot of these other programs. He takes the time to go through core concepts and make sure that you understand the information. In addition, Young also serves as a valuable resource and guide. Whenever I was nervous for one of my upcoming ACTs, he would be able to give me key advice that encouraged me to succeed. After taking his summer program and putting in a lot of effort I was able to improve my score by 9 points. Thanks to Young, the possibilities for college are endless.

When I was searching for an ACT prep course to take over the summer, I was absolutely dreading having to spend a large part of my break doing schoolwork. All of the ACT prep courses these days are all about memorization and drilling information into students’ heads. But after the first day of being in class with Young, I was looking forward to continue prep because he made me believe I could actually improve my score and reach my goals. I knew I was going to be learning valuable information in a motivating way. Young’s involvement and strong passion to teach his students is incredible: he really cares and looks out for them, making his course so valuable and worth all the hard work. The most shocking aspect of his prep course to me was how comfortable I felt communicating my thoughts or any worries to him. He always had an answer for me, and it was so easy to understand everything he explained without forgetting the next week. Thanks to Young, my composite score jumped 7 points, and my worst subject score became my best. I would definitely recommend Kairos Academics to anyone not just for ACT prep but for any tutoring!
Kairos Academics was an incredible help to me. The summer before my junior year, I was very nervous and hesitant about taking the act. I had no idea what to do or how to study for it. Thankfully, I found Young and Kairos Academics. I attended his summer ACT course, and it was one the best learning experiences ever. Not only did he break everything down into simple, easy-to-follow steps, but what he taught me in those classes actually really helped me in my studies at school. I gained lots of insight on English and reading, and I greatly improved my scores. In addition, his practice tests were a world of a difference. At first, I had scored a 27 on my first test. I thought I was doomed to stay at that score. But Young broke down my mistakes into easy rules to follow. The tests really helped me calm my nerves before my actual ACT, and they were a tremendous help in learning what I was weak at, and in the end, I ended up with a 34 for my actual ACT. Overall, Kairos Academics really helped improve my ACT score and academic abilities, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without it.
