What Students Are Saying:

Before coming to Kairos and working with Young, I was very nervous about taking the ACT and
lacked confidence in my abilities. After attending his classes in the summer, however, I
progressed so far in each section, improving my skills in grammar and math and gaining new
strategies to improve my efficiency for reading comprehension and science. After just a few
classes, I had learned so much and already had more confidence in myself. His classes provided
a safe environment, and his in-depth teaching and organized tutoring system made sure that I
was always on track to achieve my highest scores. Additionally, Young’s confidence in me and
his positive attitude throughout my whole experience is what helped me have more confidence
in myself. The one thing that helped me raise my scores a lot was how many practice tests I
took with Young. In total, I took over 20 full length practice tests, and I believe this is why I was
able to raise my reading section, which was my lowest section, to a score of 35. The experience
of taking the tests helped me get familiar with the types of questions the test would ask and
helped me improve my stamina. Overall, Young made studying for the ACT manageable and less
stressful, and I am extremely grateful to him for helping me achieve a composite score of 34!

Working with Young was definitely the best part of my summer! He helped me grow not only in my SAT scores but also in character. The way he was always upbeat and genuinely cared about me made the experience so much better than what I could have ever thought. Although studying for the SAT/ACT is very rigorous, the way Young was able to break it down and teach each part helped a ton. If I went to someone else there is no way I would’ve been able to increase my score from a 1310 all the way to 1460. Apart from my growth in academics, he was such a great role model for how I want to live my life and work hard in the future. If he didn’t push me to be the best I could be, I would not be the same person I am now. In fact, it is a night and day difference in how I approach academics now due to Young’s influence. Thank you, Young, for such a great summer and for making the SAT fun and exciting!

Making the decision to work with Young was hands down one of the best decisions my family and I made. I was incredibly nervous about taking the ACT and wasn’t sure how it worked. Young made his explanations and lessons extremely helpful and comprehensible for me and many others in the same position. My ACT score has improved tremendously, and it was all thanks to his incredible work. I feel so much more confident in my abilities as a student, and I have definitely improved. A student’s individual skills are very important, but the attitude and spirit of their teacher is just as, if not more important, and Young truly stands out as an example of an outstanding teacher who I wish taught at my school. Don’t keep deliberating! Choose Young!

Working with Mr. Young has been absolutely incredible. My first session I was extremely nervous and unprepared to take the ACT, but Mr. Young was very welcoming and eager to help me. He takes his time to build a connection so he can help you learn in the most effective way. He cares deeply for all of his students and truly wants them to succeed. Mr. Young was very flexible and understanding with my schedule as well. He was always willing to make time for me. During the time I spent with him, he taught me so much, especially in math and grammar, and provided me countless tips on how to take the ACT. He takes time to make sure you understand what you got correct and break down what you didn’t. Every session I learned so much and felt closer to being ready to take the ACT. Mr. Young has helped me so much and I was able to push way beyond my ACT score goals. I improved my composite score by 13 points to get a final composite score of 32! I am so grateful to have this opportunity to work with Mr. Young.

What’s a prepositional phrase? What’s a subordinating conjunction? What is the difference between many vs. much or fewer vs. less? These were some of the questions I would have never asked if it wasn’t for Young’s tutelage. Although I’ve tried studying for the ACT and SAT on my own, it was a farce compared to the way he taught. I have had many teachers, yet few compared to his exceptional ability to simplify complicated concepts so even I could understand. Learning any subject with him became less of a chore because it was so much fun! It’s important to be able to learn with dedication alone, but I’m also a firm believer that there needs to be joy in the process. Young’s humorous and exuberant personality made his hour-long lessons feel more like thirty minutes. Through his lessons, he instilled confidence that I could succeed in the chaotic world of standardized tests and academics. After about a month and a half of studying with Young, I walked into the test center knowing that I gave it my all. There wasn’t a shred of nervousness in my body. I knew that the work I put in and Young’s guidance wouldn’t fail me. I ended up increasing my ACT score by a whole seven points, from a 25 to a 32. I later increased my SAT from a 1280 to a 1400. And I was even able to write a killer college essay with Young’s help. Throughout this experience, I’ve accomplished many things I once thought were impossible, and I owe it all to Kairos Academics. I’d recommend Young to anybody who wants to improve themselves on the SAT and ACT, not only for his intelligence but also for the genuine and attentive attitude he brings to education.

When I heard my sister got a score of 1540 on her SAT because of some “magician,” I was skeptical. I thought it was a hoax and that the score reflected my sister’s natural ability, not any “tricks” or “rules” that she learned. My mom said that now it was my turn—now, I know better. During my time with Young, my score exploded from 1340 to 1520. His classes were short, convenient, and loaded with information. His rules allowed me to replicate my results while adding to my database of knowledge with concepts I had not yet learned in school, even when taking all AP’s and honors. His attention to detail as well as dedication to each and every one of his students made me feel welcome at Kairos Academics, and I would recommend him to students of all skill levels.

Young’s classes are unique and unlike any other. In the summer before my junior year, I enrolled in his ACT Prep program. Despite scoring relatively well on the diagnostic, there was still room for improvement. Throughout the summer, I worked with Young to relearn the basic fundamentals of math and English, which were surprisingly new to me, and practiced constantly in order to hone my skills. Something that I particularly liked was the communication between the student and the teacher. Young is very communicative and gives quick and personalized responses. His flexibility made it easy to organize my practice tests and review sessions during the busy school year. Through his teachings and guidance, I was able to raise my score by multiple points in just six months and ended with a superscore of a 35! I am forever grateful to Young for everything.

Young is an incredible teacher! Everyday that I showed up to class, his words of encouragement and genuine care helped push me to strive for my best. Before taking the test, I was nervous about it, but with his teaching I felt more confident and prepared. His thoughtful lessons and endless resources equipped me with the knowledge I needed to succeed on my test. I ended up improving my score composite score from a 27 to a 34! His constant encouragement created a supportive environment that allowed me to feel comfortable asking questions and push through challenges.

Young and the peers in my class were all respectful and enjoyable to work with. Every single one of these factors helped contribute to my final composite score of 35 and my final superscore of 36 with two perfect sections. These were drastic improvements to my first couple of diagnostic tests, where I scored in the mid-20s. My most notable improvements were in the English and Reading sections: English rose from the upper 20s to a perfect 36, and Reading jumped from a 25 to a 35. Young’s dedication and determination to improve my test scores were the only reasons I decided to re-test and earn such strong scores. I can’t thank Young enough, and I am so grateful to have had him as a tutor. I highly recommend Young for ACT Prep and those seeking improvement they never thought possible.

Young’s positive and motivating demeanor made the learning process enjoyable and inspiring. His genuine enthusiasm for teaching created a supportive environment that motivated me to learn and grow both academically and personally. What truly sets Young apart is his personable approach and unwavering dedication to each student’s success. His efforts went beyond just preparing for the ACT; through his high level of commitment and care, my overall academic foundation was fortified, laying a robust groundwork for future challenges in both high school and college. One of Young’s exceptional qualities is his attention to detail. He took personal care to identify and address any missing foundational knowledge, regardless of how big or small. His personal dedication to filling these gaps ensured a comprehensive and well-rounded preparation process. Moreover, Young created an environment where making mistakes was not only acceptable but in some ways encouraged. I felt comfortable acknowledging my errors, knowing that through Young’s process, I could learn from them and excel further. This unique aspect of his teaching methodology fostered a growth mindset, allowing me to approach challenges with confidence. Thanks to Young’s bright and encouraging personality, coupled with his dedication and effective teaching methods, I was able to raise my ACT score by 8 points. I am immensely grateful for the positive impact he has had on my academic journey and personal development. Young is not just an exceptional ACT tutor; he is a mentor who truly cares about the growth and success of his students.

At the start of my ACT journey, I didn’t know how to take long, 3-hour tests without getting mentally tired or how to navigate all the different grammar rules or the numerous math concepts. With the help of Mr. Young, I was able to successfully achieve my goal score. His patience and constant reassurance were exactly what I needed to achieve it. I had never met a teacher who cared so much to remind me to put my calculator in the right mode or send messages of encouragement before my test. I’ll never forget when he sent me a 10-minute voice message because he knew I was feeling unmotivated for my next test. His words of advice and motivation I believe is why I did so well. Mr. Young is truly incredible. I was able to raise my composite score 11 points and receive a 33 composite. I had a 35 in two of my four sections, which I could not have accomplished without his help. Mr. Young was able to create a learning space that I felt comfortable in to ask questions and seek help, which was really crucial for me. He helped us improve from our mistakes and never made us feel dumb. He always provided support and advice when we were struggling, lifting us with positive words. He greeted us with an enthusiastic attitude that made me want to learn. He celebrated all of our successes regardless of if it was related to school. I am so thankful to have worked with Mr. Young and wouldn’t have been able to achieve my goal without him.

Mr. Young is one of the most impactful mentors for me not only as an ACT tutor but also with life. Regarding the ACT, my initial score was a composite 22. He helped me improve it to an overall score of 32, and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without his guidance. More specifically, Mr. Young helped me improve my English score from a 21 to a 36. He not only builds confidence in his students but also provides them with strong studying skills that can be applied to school. Additionally, Mr. Young cares deeply about each and every one of his students and caters to their individual needs. He takes time to understand where students struggle and focuses on addressing those needs, while maintaining their strengths. Mr. Young is very personable and respectable as a person. I deeply appreciate his advice and knowledge regarding ACT, school, and my future plans, and I am grateful for the opportunities he has provided for me in developing as a student and person. I hope others are also able to work with Mr. Young, as he is truly one of the most thoughtful, experienced mentors.

Kairos Academics was my first preparation of any sort for the ACT. I had scored pretty high on practice tests but was looking to achieve a perfect score. Young was very encouraging and helpful, and through his classes I learned more efficient approaches to tackle each section. By going over several of my previous practice tests, he helped me identify and strengthen my weak spots. He always believed in me, and due to his teaching, I was able to get a final composite score of 36 on the ACT!

When my dad told me I was doing an ACT prep class last summer, I was not thrilled to say the least. But after starting, I found myself looking forward to the classes. Class was never boring, which I think made it so much easier for me to pay attention and absorb all of the information. Young’s method of teaching was very efficient. He had an ability to explain things in a way that automatically made sense. I also loved how positive the atmosphere was. Young was such a supportive teacher and always pushed me to do my best. He celebrated every small achievement I made. I was able to get a 34 on my first attempt, which I genuinely don’t think I could’ve done without him.

When my mom told me I was taking an ACT prep course over the summer I immediately thought “my summer is ruined.” I had been working so hard all year and just wanted a break from school. Even worse, after taking the Pre-ACT and receiving lower scores than a lot of my peers, my confidence in standardized test-taking was shot. I felt like no amount of test prep could help me succeed, especially because I struggle with ADHD. But even from the first session I had with Young, I knew that taking his class was not going to be a waste of time. Over the course of a few months, Young built up my confidence and found ways to help me overcome the obstacles ADHD created for me. Every session was enjoyable, whether I was making new friends, cracking jokes, pranking Young, or even feeling satisfied and excited after nailing a difficult concept. Young was also patient and flexible with me in working with my swim training and competition schedule, which becomes extremely hectic over the summer. In the end, his clever strategies and methods of teaching, combined with his optimistic personality, pushed me to be successful on the ACT. I achieved a 33 composite score on my first try, scoring a perfect 36 on the reading section and a 35 on the English section! I cannot thank him enough.

The Reading and English portions have always been my weak suits when it came to the ACT, but working with Young for only a couple months, I was able to raise it about 5 points on those sections. Young focuses on the fundamentals and doesn’t emphasize supposed “hacks” on the test. Young really drills into you the basics of grammar and reading comprehension in a way that is failsafe against the ACT. He has been one of my favorite tutors, and attending his class was always a treat. Highly recommend his class as the way he teaches and acts is a great source to learn and grow. With Young’s help, I was able to bump my score from a 30 to a 35, which is better than I could ask for.

I cannot recommend working with Young enough for the ACT. Upon being referred by friends, I was blown away by how engaging and enjoyable the whole process was. His methodical and organized approach from start to finish was exceptional, and I cannot imagine anyone doing a better job. Young not only taught me effective strategies for the ACT but also reinforced my prior knowledge, particularly in English and Math. His lessons were never dull, and he always encouraged us to aim for our highest scores. The weekly practice tests made taking the ACT feel second nature, and the subsequent reviews, supplemented with various resources, enabled me to continually achieve new high scores. Thanks to Young’s guidance, I improved dramatically, going from a 27 composite on my diagnostic to a 33 composite on my final ACT, with significant improvements in every section, especially in English (24 to a 34) and reading (31 to a 36).

More than just an excellent tutor, Young is an incredibly personable and kind individual. He genuinely cares about his students and goes above and beyond to build relationships with them. His lighthearted approach and ongoing jokes kept things fun, and I always had a good laugh in every session. He celebrated every success, no matter how big or small, and provided nothing but encouragement and support when mistakes were made. I felt comfortable making mistakes and admitting when I didn’t know something. Overall, I am incredibly grateful to have had Young’s guidance throughout this whole process.

Before Kairos, I had no intentions of taking the ACT as I had a history of experiencing test anxiety, especially in a standardized test setting. I started with nothing and felt very discouraged as I constantly doubted my skills and believed I would never be good enough. During my ACT prep with Young, he taught me how to tackle each section and also helped me build confidence over time. What I appreciate the most about Young is his authenticity and how he genuinely cares for his students to do their best and takes the time to analyze their abilities and arrange his lessons accordingly. There would be times when I felt overwhelmed by my extracurriculars and school, but Young respected my pace and created a comfortable environment where I was able to ease in. He truly is a reliant teacher that motivates students through his passion and knowledge, and ultimately inspired me to improve and become a better version of myself as weeks went by. Thanks to his help, I was able to score a 35 and a super score of 36 overall.  I would genuinely recommend Young to anyone interested in taking the ACT as he is a teacher that embodies efficiency and authenticity!

As much as I would normally dread doing any sort of tutoring, I found myself actually being excited to go to Young’s class because I knew I’d be improving my skills immensely while also enjoying myself and my learning environment. Young helped me grasp skills I never would have been able to on my own and always worked from the heart rather than simply going through the movements. Beyond the classroom, Young taught me applicable and significant life lessons that helped me grow as a person: perseverance, determination, and confidence were just a few traits that Young helped me channel. Through his ACT prep course and continued practice tests every week, I was able to get a score of 34- a score I genuinely didn’t know I was capable of going into this. Young’s unwavering faith in me and personal connection we formed through this learning process helped me continue at times I felt stumped- because of this I got results. I highly recommend Young as well as any staff member at Kairos Academics. Not just for ACT prep, but for any academic subject you may be struggling with.

I was enrolled at Kairos over the summer by my mother, expecting to hate every second of ACT prep. It is safe to say that I did not hate ACT prep with Young at all. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed it very much and looked forward to going to class every day. Young’s enthusiastic attitude, teaching style, genuine care, bad dad jokes, and never-ending patience created an amazing learning environment. Young made every class fun and educational. I was always amazed by how much we had learned in an hour. Young was super understanding and flexible whenever I was not able to make it to class. He would let me zoom into class or record class on zoom so I did not fall behind. He also thoroughly explained anything I didn’t understand and made sure I understood everything before moving on. He truly cares about the wellbeing and future of his students. I definitely would not have been able to increase my ACT score without Young’s help.

Standardized testing can be daunting, especially for a first-time test taker who has no idea how the ACT and SAT work. I’m incredibly fortunate to have met Young and had him as my ACT tutor. Every single one of his lessons were very personalized, and it felt as though he genuinely cared about every student inside and outside the classroom. I took my diagnostic in October of 2021, and after getting a score of 22 composite, I was worried that I wouldn’t have the ability to hit the score I desired. Over the course of the year, having access to Young as a resource drastically improved my confidence in my knowledge, and I noticed a quick increase in my score as I consistently took practice ACTs. Then, taking the official ACT in September of 2022, I was able to hit a composite score of 32. Young blew me away with his ability to create personal connections with students and guide them towards academic success. I cannot recommend him enough.

When the ACT test-taking process began, I was nervous knowing that standardized testing was never my thing. Hearing all of the positive remarks about Young from many friends, I felt that working with him would be worth a try. Young had exceeded my expectations and just after a few classes with him, I felt so much more confident in the concepts. Young broke down each of the subject matters through his detailed and engaging guidance and made sure I understood all of the concepts before I walked out the door. Young also created a learning environment that allowed me to comfortably ask questions and receive the help I would need to better understand the concept, removed the mental blocks that were holding me back from reaching my full potential, and gave me the confidence I needed through his encouragements and care. Thanks to Young, I was able to increase my score in my weakest section, English, by 14 points and saw a 7-point increase in my composite score. Overall, Young celebrates each and every one of his students, and I can’t express how thankful I am to have worked with him throughout this entire process.

The idea of preparing for the ACT was always scary. Walking into my first class, I wasn’t confident in my own abilities to do well on the test. But Young was able to break down concepts in a way I was able to understand and use on the test to improve my score. Also, Young was accommodating with my changing schedule as a student-athlete and would always make sure I had a class or zoom call to go to. Approaching the ACT, I was nervous and unsure of whether or not I could do my best, but Young was always there to reassure and help me remain confident in my skills. Thanks to Young, I was able to improve my composite score by 8 points and reach a superscore of 33. Kairos Academics helped me to improve as a student and feel more confident in my academic skills.

I’m grateful to Young for his tutelage. I was able to raise my composite score 7 points and score in the 99% because of his lessons. He is great at working with the students, building upon their strength and helping them overcome their weaknesses. Overall, he is a chill and dope dude.

Working with Young was one of the most special opportunities I have ever had. Though I had heard nothing but positive things about him, Young still managed to exceed my expectations! I was fortunate enough to do my ACT Prep with him, and I can’t imagine anyone replicating the help he provided with his unmatched expertise. Everyday that I came in, Young was an uplifting, enthusiastic energy, and I would always leave feeling accomplished thanks to his heartfelt encouragement and guidance. Young’s incredible instruction along with his endless resources were one of the main reasons I felt prepared for the ACT. Doing practice tests in the weeks leading up to my test definitely helped me the most. These tests were just like the real ACT, which helped me feel super relaxed in my actual test and relieved me of any excess pressure that may have been a distraction from my preparation. I ended up improving from a 28 composite on my diagnostic to a 34 composite on my ACT, all thanks to Young’s help! The most improvement was my science section where I increased by 9 points, but I felt super improved and more confident in all of the sections. Although his ACT resources were very important in my full preparation process, I wouldn’t have seen half of the improvements I saw without someone as supportive and genuine as Young. It was very obvious to me when I first walked in that Young worked out of the kindness of his heart, putting all of his effort into helping us improve in our areas of need. Young creates a very comfortable learning environment where mistakes are fully acceptable and a part of the learning process. He provided nothing but support in times of struggle and lifted us up with his positivity whenever we were frustrated or having an off day. He also celebrates all of our successes, no matter how small, so I was able to appreciate my hard work and improvements along the way. I applaud his entire method of preparing students and cannot stress enough how helpful he has been to me and so many others! I am so thankful to have worked with Young.

Young has been nothing short of incredible. I received a pretty average composite score in my diagnostic test, a score that wasn’t terrible nor exemplary. However, after I started working with Young, his detailed and thoughtful lessons encouraged me to push myself further and strive harder for the best possible score I could produce. He never failed to remind me that he believed in me and that he was proud of me no matter what, and his constant encouragement and reassurance created a genuinely supportive and burdenless environment. Given my stressful school and extracurricular life, Young provided a space for me to unwind, slow down, and equip myself with the confidence and knowledge I needed to face the challenges I saw ahead of me. It was in this environment that I was able to really thrive. At the finish line, I was eventually able to get a 36 in 3 sections and an overall 35 composite score. I am so grateful and blessed to have had Young as my guide throughout this entire process.

My first grammar lessons with Young totally surprised me because of how easily he taught the skills. In fact, he was able to teach each of the four sections step by step and made sure that I understood each topic. On top of this, he was very flexible with my schedule, which really helped my mental stress since I was going into my junior year. With my SAT’s cancellation due to COVID, Young suggested that I try out the ACT instead. I was very discouraged, but with Young’s patient guide and tests every week, I was able to score 34 on my first try! On top of this, my weakest section (reading) improved by 8 points! I really owe it to Young and everything he taught me!

Prior to joining my tutoring sessions with Young, I had been learning under a different standardized testing program. During that time, I exhibited minimal improvement and began to lose confidence in myself with performing well on the ACT. Through each session, Young helped me to view the test not as an obstacle but rather as a good learning experience. His organized lessons helped me gain more confidence as I learned various techniques for approaching each section. In the end, I was able to improve my composite score by 7 points to get a final composite score of 32! I was even able to apply the things that he taught to my school work and college essays. I don’t think I would have been able to improve so much on the ACT without Young’s help. I am very appreciative of the great learning experience I had with Young, and I would definitely recommend him to everyone studying for the ACT!

I went into Kairos with no prior preparation for the ACT, and I felt very nervous and discouraged because testing has never been my strong suit. However, after only a few classes and tackling each section one at a time, I was able conquer each section with a new, more efficient approach. Young’s kindness and patience created a safe environment for me and reminded me to never give up. He always believed I could do better and worked with me to score in the 30’s!

At the beginning of my standardized testing experience, I was intimidated and lacked a lot of confidence in myself. A high test score seemed almost unreachable for me. Young was amazing in his guidance during my ACT prep. He truly goes into great depths about every topic within all of the sections. During each session with Young, I felt that he was always taking the time to make sure that I understood everything he was teaching. His tutoring methods kept me engaged in each lesson while teaching me all the vital information. The packets he created about every section helped immensely as well. As soon as I stepped into his room on the first day, he had my whole ACT prep already planned out. His organization and overall positive attitude allowed me to put my full confidence in everything he taught me. I was able to raise my composite score a total of 12 points, eventually ending up with a super score of 34. I soon realized that the things Young taught me not only helped with the ACT but also with my schoolwork. I have been able to transfer everything I learned from Young into the classroom, which has been immensely rewarding. Overall, I would not have been able to get the score that I did without receiving the amazing tutoring from Young.

Going into tutoring with Young I was feeling discouraged because I had already been through a couple months of tutoring with a different program and did not do well on my first test. Just after a few visits with Young, I was already feeling more confident and understanding of the concepts. He was able to break down the subject matter in a way where I was easily able to understand in an engaging, enjoyable way. I was also worried about scheduling because of balancing my constantly changing busy sports schedule, but Young could not be more accommodating. I constantly told myself and Young that I was not good at standardized tests and that they weren’t my thing, but Young always instilled confidence and encouraged me to do my best. Without Young’s help, I would not have been able to drastically bring up my composite score 9 points and my best section from a 21 up to a 34!

After hearing so many great things from my friends about Young, I enrolled at Kairos for the summer. As an upcoming senior, I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to learn everything in time for my college applications, but with Young’s help, I was able to reach a 35 composite score and 36 superscore in a couple of months. Young focuses deeply on the fundamentals in the beginning weeks of prep, which was especially helpful for me in the math section since I didn’t come in with a strong foundation. I took both group and private lessons with Young, and after the first few weeks, his curriculum became more challenging and intense so I could apply the basics I had learned. That gradual process is what I truly think led to my final successful score. This course really did push me, but I could clearly see myself improving every week I took a practice test- not only in my scores, but my comfortability taking the test as well. I am so grateful for Young’s encouraging attitude and the genuine care he has for his students and their futures.

Studying for the ACT in the middle of my junior year was a very daunting task I had ahead of me, but Young at Kairos Academics made it super manageable! As soon as I took my diagnostic, we got right to working on a study/lesson plan. Young’s teaching style and lesson planning greatly improved my mental health and stress because of all the support and amount of caring he puts forth to his students. I have never felt more heard and encouraged about my learning in a classroom. Overall, I was able to surpass my ACT score goals by getting a 34 and highly recommend you look into Kairos Academics for any tutoring you may need!

I remember when my mom first called Young and asked if he could teach me the “tricks” to score higher on the SAT. He told my mom that there were no tricks here, just rules and knowledge to produce replicable results. He was completely right; Young’s methods are no nonsense and produce consistently higher scores. In only a month and a half, I was able to boost my score from the mid-1400s to a 1540, and I couldn’t be happier. On top of producing amazing results, Young is a captivating and caring teacher. I was surprised that hour long grammar lessons felt so enjoyable and personalized. When I had to miss lessons, he was always very understanding and made time in his schedule to make up my lesson. I highly recommend Kairos Academics to everyone for any subject.

Going into my ACT journey, I had little to no prior knowledge of the tools I needed in order to succeed. Originally, I thought I might self-study; however, there was so much material to cover that I had no idea where to begin. Because I was so intimidated and overwhelmed by standardized testing, I knew I would need someone with experience to help me significantly raise my score. That is when I turned to Young. Within one week of taking his daily classes, I could feel my confidence increasing. Not only was I rapidly familiarizing myself with the material on the test, but I also found myself enjoying his classes – even though they started at 9:00 am. Every morning, Young was prepared, cheerful, and welcoming. He was easily able to create a friendly environment for learning, and that is what led me to constantly have a positive attitude towards standardized testing. Additionally, I am so thankful for Young’s ACT Prep because of how much it pushed me to improve in all different aspects of the ACT. I never thought I would need any of these ACT lessons after taking the test, but I have discovered that the content Young teaches his students helps them in many aspects of their lives. One specific example of this can be seen in my writing. During my sophomore year of high school, I had never fully understood the rules for punctuation, grammar, etc. Even though Young’s lessons were meant to help my English score – which they remarkably did – they showed me the correct way to write. I was never confident with my writing, but because of Young, I feel prepared to take on any English assignments. Moreover, one of the biggest impacts ACT Prep has had on me involves the science section of the test. For the longest time, I could not understand why I was doing so poorly in the science portion. After speaking with Young, I was advised to take a single one-on-one session just for science. After that one class, my score was able to rise by so much. My science score had been causing me to second guess myself, but with Young’s natural ability to teach and assure his students, I was able to regain my motivation. Ultimately, Young’s ACT Prep allowed me to raise my composite score by 8 points. I learned more than I could have ever imagined from Young, and I am extremely pleased with the experiences I had with Kairos Academics.

Before I went to Young for help, I was incredibly nervous to take the ACT—I had no idea how to approach any section of the test. I needed the most help in the English section, and Young helped me learn more through his classes than I did in school. He taught me new strategies through his detailed explanations and study guides. In addition, he took the time to explain why each answer was correct or incorrect. This new understanding also allowed me to reapply these concepts in school. With his help, I was able to increase my composite score by 9 points! I gained the most points on the English section. Not only is he a great tutor, Young is also a great person overall. I would sometimes have scheduling issues, and he would always make time for me to catch up, even though he is really busy. I am thankful for everything he’s taught me, so I definitely recommend Young to anyone who needs help studying for the ACT!

As a senior, I have been worrying about my standardized test scores for college applications. I have struggled with figuring out how to self-study for the tests and didn’t have any progress with improving my scores.

When I started working with Young, I had my doubts about raising my scores in such a short period of two months. However, after a few sessions, I started to see big changes in my scores and had a deeper understanding of concepts in every section. Young goes over individual concepts in-depth and makes sure that I understand them thoroughly by the end of the day. The fun and peaceful environment at Kairos encouraged me to ask questions that I would usually be too embarrassed or shy to ask in my usual learning environment. In the end, my composite score went up by 4 points and my weakest reading section went up from 24 points to 36 points! If you are a student that is either struggling to get your ACT points up or struggling to understand lessons at school, I 100% recommend going to Kairos Academics.

There’s not a single negative thing that comes to mind about working with Young. Over the course of my time with him, he has given me countless tips and tricks to use on the ACT. Every session I was a part of was time efficient and engaging. Being a student-athlete results in having a busy schedule and Young was always very flexible and understanding. He was willing to make any accommodations necessary to make sure I never fell behind. He builds relationships with all of his students and cares deeply for each and every one of them in order to connect with them and help unlock their full potential on the ACT. My standardized test scores have come a long way and I owe it all to Young.

At first, I really struggled with the ACT and had little confidence in my testing ability. However, working with Young made a huge difference. He helped me improve my composite score by 8 points. His patience and dedication to his students produces stunning results. He helped change my outlook on the ACT and allowed me to get my best score yet.

Prior to my tutoring sessions with Mr. Park, I struggled and lacked confidence in my math class. With Young’s teaching skills, I was able to learn new material quickly and managed to score above 90% on all of my math tests following. As he has lots of experience with students from the local schools, he knows the courses very well and was able to give me the specific tips and tricks needed to succeed in my enhanced math class.

Before I received tutoring from Young, I was struggling in math and had never been with a tutor before. After meeting with him the first few tutor sessions, I automatically was able to better understand the material. He found exactly what I was struggling with in each unit, and we focused on those concepts before moving on to others. His flexible schedule made it really helpful to get in those extra study sessions before tests, and he helped me get an A in my math class junior year. Young is the best person to come to if you ever need tutoring because his teaching makes it really easy to comprehend the topics and he challenges you so that you can succeed on your own. He gave me confidence in my math skills and he is overall a great tutor!

The idea of preparing for the ACT was always scary, but when I met with Young, I was able to learn new concepts and how to solve problems I never thought I could. He was able to break down concepts in a way I was able to understand the concepts well. Also, Young was accommodating with my chaotic schedule as a student-athlete and would always make sure I had a class to go to. Approaching the ACT, I had a lot of doubts in my own confidence, but Young was always there to cheer me on and gave me advice when needed. Thanks to Young, I was able to boost my English section from a 24 to a 35, jumped 6 composite points, and scored in the 30s overall on my first try. I highly recommend Kairos academics to anyone as Young will always be there to support his students in any way possible and always encouraged me to do my best!

After not doing well on my ACT, I signed up with Kairos based on recommendations from my peers. Going into my first session, I felt intimidated, but the comfortable pace of the small group instruction allowed me to effectively learn the concepts. Young was also very accommodating with my complicated summer schedule, allowing me to plan my tutoring around my cross-country practice. The sessions allowed me to raise my ACT science score by 9 points, which helped my overall composite score reach the 30’s on my first attempt.

Near the end of my sophomore year, I started to get very nervous about taking my ACT, especially since standardized testing has always been something that I wasn’t very confident in. I had no idea of where or how to start studying, but after my first few sessions with Young, I was able to quickly learn strategies and concepts that I struggled to understand even in school. He created an amazing learning environment, and I always felt comfortable asking questions and seeking additional help on any concepts I was struggling with. His unique approach, attention to detail, and genuine care for all his students boosted my self-confidence immensely and ultimately helped me raise my ACT score to a 35! Studying with Young was one of the best academic decisions I’ve made, and I highly recommend going to Kairos Academics for any of your tutoring needs!

I would say that Young would be the best person to get ACT prep from. After my first class with him, I learned more in one hour than from any other teacher I’ve ever had. Because of him, I went up 9 composite points! Young is a kind and hardworking person who helps you in any way you need. There would be situations where I wouldn’t be able to attend class, and he would still make time for me to make up the class. For anyone who is looking somewhere for ACT prep, you need to go to him!

When I first started out with the entire standardized testing process, it was so confusing; every single website and tutoring place I went to offered different advice and opinions. However, finding Young and Kairos Academics was probably the best thing that could have happened. While some of my other friends were complaining about the tediousness of other prep courses, Young’s course was the exact opposite. Young’s tutoring process is extremely efficient, flexible, and quick. He doesn’t waste your time going over meaningless content, and only teaches you exactly what he feels you could improve on. To add on to that, I was playing two different sports at the time so finding a good time to get tutored was almost impossible, but Young was able to make it work, whether the meeting was in person or over zoom. He responds extremely fast to texts and phone calls, so if I ever had a quick question, I knew he would get back to me extremely quickly. After getting tutored by him, I was able to raise my ACT composite score from a 30 to a 34 as well as raise some of my worst sections from a 26 to a 33, something that I would have never been able to do without his expertise.

As I was approaching junior year, I had little confidence that I would do well on the ACT, and I dreaded the idea of enrolling in academies or tutoring. I never had a positive experience at summer schools or with tutors, but that all changed after ACT prep with Young. Young makes classes fun and engaging, and sessions are just long enough so that you cover a good amount of content without feeling mentally drained afterwards. He’s kind and patient, making sure that you understand what you miss on practice exams. He’s never made me feel dumb, even when I felt dumb myself. I struggled with getting my score up at the beginning and was really discouraged when I saw that everyone else in my class was seeing big jumps in their scores. However, Young continued to encourage me and believed in my abilities, especially when I didn’t. After just eight months, I was able to raise my score from a 27 to a 35! I ended up with a score higher than I had even hoped for and exceeded my own expectations! I’ve had the best and most rewarding tutoring experience with Young.

Going into my Junior year, I was extremely stressed about standardized tests for college. I knew very little about the options and best study methods, which made the whole process confusing and nerve-racking. Before Kairos, I had been to very expensive tutoring companies, studying for months, yet my score would not budge. I felt hopeless about my standardized test score and almost gave up on taking the exam completely. All the worry and confusion shifted to clarity when I came to Young at Kairos. I immediately began prepping for the ACT, and Young graciously fit me into his schedule. He provided excellent study books and materials that changed the way I was studying for the ACT. He had a comprehensive study plan/schedule that wasn’t overwhelming but made me feel confident about my testing abilities. Young is driven to help his students succeed and I could feel his passion for my success. With other testing companies, even after months and dozens of tests, my score remained the same. With Kairos, I was able to score a 34 after about a month of tutoring and only two official exams. I would never have dreamed of doing so well, and it has opened many doors for me in terms of college and national scholarships. I can’t thank Young/Kairos enough!

I’ve always had bad standardized test anxiety, and I was afraid to take the ACT for the longest time. When my friend introduced me to Kairos, Young went over the most important concepts with me on the ACT, and my practice scores went from a 29 to a 33! It was amazing how Young was able to help me improve in a short amount of time. The biggest struggle for me was test-taking anxiety. The most important lesson that Young has taught me, though, is to just take my time to carefully read the questions. Although I knew the material, I would end up scoring lower because I would rush through the questions instead of taking the time to read them. Young’s pacing technique not only helped improve my score, but it also helped me when it came to tests in school as well. Young is not just a tutor, but he’s a friend. He takes the time to really know what you struggle with so that you can succeed. I’ll forever be grateful for Young’s help.

Young Park has helped me immensely with the ACT. Prior to his help, I felt that I was unable to improve beyond a certain score – the test often felt daunting. After his prep, my composite score rose 8 composite points, even though I was only able to take the ACT once. Young always met me with patience and fun, and I found myself being excited to attend his prep sessions. Especially on days when I felt hopeless on reading or science sections, Young always believed in me. He always told me that I am capable, and my worst enemy is myself. I took his advice and worked to focus on my score. I am certain that I could not have been where I am without Young.

I started doing ACT prep with Young my junior year after a few of my friends had already taken the test and recommended him for prep. I was skeptical of how much tutoring could help because it had never made much difference for me in the past. Young’s program, however, is very well designed. The way he taught the grammar for the English section made it easy to remember. I couldn’t have mastered that section from a prep book alone. The math tutoring not only helped me raise my score 5 points in the math section, but made school easier because he explained the newer Math 3 concepts in a way that was easier to understand than how it is taught in class. The weekly practice tests helped me raise my score and understand how to pace myself (no watch needed). Young also kept me motivated through the Covid-19 test cancellations. When I finally got to take the real test, all the practice made it so I didn’t even feel nervous. My score was 6 points higher than when I started and will give me much better chances of getting into my dream school. Young believed I could get a score better than I thought I could and helped me reach it.

Going into junior year, the thought of taking the ACT was daunting. I had heard about Young through a friend who had a great experience with him, so naturally, I contacted him to start ACT prep. I had taken a diagnostic exam prior to starting ACT prep with Young in which I scored low on the math and science sections and also had trouble with the fast pace of the test as a whole, my low scores further increasing my anxiety about the test. But when I showed the results of my diagnostic exam to Young, he created a individualized plan to prepare me for the test. First, he had me focus on math, the hardest subject for me. What I really appreciated about Young’s tutoring was that he focused on the areas of the math section I needed the most help with, improving my score dramatically within a couple of sessions. Young also taught me how to tackle the tricky science section that had seemed impossible to me before I started going to him. Additionally, Young’s weekly practice exams leading up to my test really gave me a sense of what the actual test would be like and many opportunities to practice my pacing.

Because of all of Young’s help, I was able to get a score higher than I ever thought was possible for myself! His tutoring increased my math score by six points and my composite score by four points, and that’s not all! My scores in other categories increased too! And Young isn’t just great at tutoring! He is also great at really getting to know each individual student. The encouraging atmosphere Young creates makes each student feel like they can succeed! I would definitely recommend Young to anyone looking for an ACT tutor!

With a mother who had never studied in the US, I found the task of registering and preparing for standardized testing daunting. I actually only heard of the ACT late in Sophomore year and had assumed that I would take the SAT. After consulting with Young, I realized that the ACT might be a better fit. Moreover, he was honest about my abilities and very straightforward about his methods. His openness was incredibly reassuring, and I noticed results after only a few lessons. Repetition was key for me, and Young’s weekly exam and debrief structure enabled me to gain practice and a better understanding of the test. I get bad test-anxiety, but Young’s academy gave me the confidence I needed to succeed on the ACT. I’m so grateful for all the time and effort he put into treating his students as individuals and helping us do our absolute best.

ACT Prep / Personal Statements

I struggled to raise my SAT score for quite some time, and when many schools went test-optional because of the pandemic, I was going to give up on submitting a test score. But thankfully, I started ACT prep classes with Young a few months before starting senior year. Young efficiently used the limited time we had and helped me achieve my highest scores on my practice tests and my real ACT test.

After ACT prep, Young helped me on my personal statements for college. In this time, I realized how genuine and authentic Young was as a person, not just as a tutor. I’m always so grateful that I met Young during this time. In the midst of uncertainty and doubt, Young gave me the confidence and self-assurance I needed to persevere and not give up.
